LT Electrical & Wireman
Sixteen weeks of low-tension electrical work, taught on the same panels, starters and motors that the maintenance departments in Vatva GIDC run every day. You finish with a Team SK trade certificate, an employer-signed assessment sheet, and — if you sit and clear it — the paperwork ready for the Gujarat wireman licence examination.
What you will be able to do on the last day
Not "understand" — do, with your hands, in front of someone holding a stopwatch. The list below is the assessment sheet, more or less word for word.
Wire and test a starter panel
Build a DOL starter and a star-delta starter from a blank enclosure: cable sizing, ferrule numbering, contactor and overload relay selection, control-circuit wiring from a schematic, continuity check, insulation test with a 500 V megger, and a clean first power-on.
Trace a fault under time
Given a three-phase panel that has been deliberately sabotaged — a loose neutral, a burnt contactor coil, a wrongly set overload, a broken interlock — find it and say what you would do, inside twenty minutes, without guessing your way through it.
Do the earthing properly
Lay and test an earth pit, measure earth resistance and say whether the reading passes, understand double earthing on a machine frame, select MCB, MCCB and RCCB ratings for a given load, and explain why an RCCB keeps tripping when it is not faulty.
Read a drawing
Take a single-line diagram and a control schematic and wire from them without a trainer standing over you. Mark up a drawing after a modification so the next person is not guessing.
Work on motors
Terminal box connections for star and delta, direction reversal, insulation resistance testing, bearing noise and overheating diagnosis, coupling alignment basics, and knowing when a rewind is cheaper than a replacement.
Keep yourself alive
Lockout-tagout on a real isolator, work-permit discipline, testing before touching every single time, using a proper voltage tester rather than a screwdriver tester, and the specific habits that get people killed in maintenance work.

Eligibility
- Passed 10th standard (mark sheet required, not just the certificate)
- Age 18 to 32 on the batch start date
- Aadhaar card, and a bank passbook where the name matches the Aadhaar
- Able to read Gujarati or Hindi; English is taught, not assumed
- Normal colour vision — you will be identifying core colours all day
- Fit to stand, kneel and work overhead for a full shift
Who should not join this course
- Anyone who cannot commit to a 7:30 am start six days a week for four months. Attendance below 85% means you do not sit the assessment.
- Anyone expecting a job without a licence-track effort. This is the most theory-heavy of our four courses.
- Anyone looking for a certificate to attach to a file. We will not sell you one.
What you leave with
Clear the assessment and you get three pieces of paper on the same day: the Team SK trade certificate, the assessment sheet signed by the employer's own maintenance supervisor, and — where an employer has confirmed a seat — a placement letter with a joining date, a reporting time, a gate address and a named person to ask for.
A certificate says you attended. A placement letter says somebody is expecting you on Monday at 8:00 am at Gate 2. Only one of those changes anything at home.
Where the last four batches went
Maintenance electrician roles in Vatva and Odhav chemical and pharma units; panel wiring at two switchgear fabricators near Naroda; site electrician work with an electrical contractor doing warehouse fit-outs on the Sanand road; and three trainees who took the utility-department route at a Changodar food plant.
Starting gross in 2026 ranged from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 19,000 depending on shift pattern. Rotating-shift roles pay at the upper end. We say this before you enrol, not after.
About the wireman licence
The licence is issued by the Gujarat Electrical Inspectorate, not by us, and no institute can promise you one. What we do is the preparation and the paperwork: the syllabus is covered in weeks 3 to 15, week 15 is spent almost entirely on past papers and the viva format, and our centre coordinator helps you assemble the application — experience proof, photographs, fee challan and the correct form — instead of leaving you to work it out at a counter.
A licence is not required for every job our trainees take. Plenty of maintenance electrician roles inside a factory do not ask for it. It matters when you want to work as a contractor, sign off installation work, or move up in a contracting firm — which is why we push everybody to sit for it within a year of finishing, even if their first job does not need it.

Where an employer sponsors the batch, the trainee share can fall to Rs. 2,000. Ask which of the two 2026 batches are sponsored — we will give you a straight answer.
