Four courses, and the jobs behind them

Each course below runs against committed employer headcount for the quarter. Hours are real contact hours on the bench, not calendar hours. Fees are the whole fee — assessment, ID card, uniform where the plant requires one, and the two sets of practice consumables you will destroy while learning. Nothing is added at the end.

Admissions close five working days before a start date, or when the seats fill — whichever happens first. In practice the August electrical batch closes in the second week of July most years.

Pick by the work, not by the fee

LT Electrical & Wireman

You will spend most of the course with a screwdriver, a megger and a multimeter in your hand: single- and three-phase wiring, DOL and star-delta starter panels, MCB and RCCB selection, earth pit testing, and tracing a fault in a live-looking panel while somebody times you. The last three weeks are aimed at the Gujarat wireman licence paper.

What every course includes, whichever one you pick

The trade content differs. The wrapper around it does not.

  • NSQF-mapped syllabus
  • Employer-led final assessment
  • Third-party assessor present
  • Shop-floor safety induction
  • Workplace communication module
  • Document and bank clean-up
  • NAPS registration where applicable
  • Two employer interviews minimum
  • Day 30 / 60 / 90 follow-up

The 14 hours that are not about the trade

Every batch spends about fourteen hours on things that have nothing to do with wiring or brazing, and they matter more than most trainees expect on day one.

Safety induction (6 hrs) — lockout-tagout in your own words, why the earth wire is not optional, PPE that actually fits, what a work permit is, and the three situations in which you refuse a job and call your supervisor.

Workplace communication (5 hrs) — how to report a fault clearly on a phone call, how to say you do not know something without losing face, how to ask for leave in writing, and how a shift handover works.

Pay and paperwork (3 hrs) — reading your own salary slip line by line: gross, PF, ESIC, professional tax, in-hand. Most first-time hires have never had this explained by anyone.

Choosing between two courses

If you are torn, this is roughly how we counsel people at the centre.

Pick electrical if you are willing to study — there is a licence paper at the end, there is theory, and the earnings curve after three years is the steepest of the four. It is also the course with the highest failure rate at assessment, and we do not pretend otherwise.

Pick HVAC if you already have some ITI or field background and you do not mind being on a two-wheeler in May doing four service calls a day. Season incentives are real money between March and June, and thin in monsoon.

Pick retail if you finish quickly and start earning quickly, and if you are comfortable standing for eight hours and working Sundays. The starting wage is the lowest of the four; the path to a shift-in-charge role is the shortest.

Pick warehouse if you want the shortest route to a role that pays more once you are certified on equipment. Getting cleared on a reach truck at the employer's end typically adds Rs. 2,000–3,000 within the first year.
